A MEDICALIZATION OF BIRTHING looks at how childbirth is perceived as a medical condition requiring intervention and treatment. Graphic archival medical footage and Hollywood dramatization are included to examine how women's control over their own birthing experiences has been seriously compromised. In a personal and sometimes humorous way A MEDICALIZATION OF BIRTHING questions the medical establishments role in and control of pregnancy and childbirth.
